Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 cup plant-based protein powder
  • 1 cup mashed ripe banana
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Method

Step 1: Preheat Your Oven
  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This is crucial for getting that perfect brownie texture.
Step 2: Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, combine the almond butter, honey, vanilla extract, and mashed banana. Use a fork or a whisk to blend these ingredients until smooth. Make sure there are no lumps.
Step 3: Add Dry Ingredients
  1. Now it’s time to introduce the dry ingredients. Add the protein powder and cocoa powder to the wet mix. Stir until everything is combined.
Step 4: Prepare the Baking Dish
  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper. This will prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
Step 5: Pour Batter into Dish
  1. Pour your brownie batter into the prepared dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
Step 6: Bake
  1. Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. Keep an eye on them! They’re done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 7: Cool and Enjoy
  1. Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes. Slice into squares and enjoy your protein-packed treat!

Notes

  • Use Ripe Bananas: The riper the banana, the sweeter your brownies will be.
  • Don’t Overmix: Mix just enough to combine ingredients. Overmixing can lead to tougher brownies.
  • Adjust Sweetness: Feel free to adjust the amount of honey based on your sweet tooth.
  • Chill Before Cutting: For cleaner cuts, chill the brownies in the refrigerator for an hour before slicing.
  • Add Nuts or Seeds: Mixing in walnuts or chia seeds can add extra texture and nutrients.
